The Kyiv municipal administration intends to create a center for registering homeless people on the basis of the social care home located at 4/6, Suzdalska Street, in the Solomianskyi district during the 2007-2010 period.
This is stated in a directive by the Kyiv municipal administration, a text of which Ukrainian News obtained.
Thus, the Kyiv municipal administration intends to create an information database of homeless people as well as a specialized social patrol homeless people.
Moreover, the municipal administration intends to assist homeless people in obtaining or restoring their documents.
In order to prevent homelessness, the municipal administration will organize educational events aimed at informing people about the provisions of the law on purchase, alienation, and registration of ownership rights to housing and land plots to enable unattached and elderly citizens to avoid illegal alienation of their housing.
The Kyiv municipal administration also intends to study the possibility of creating sleeping establishments, social hotels, and rehabilitation centers in districts of Kyiv, using money from philanthropic organizations, public organizations, and individuals.
Moreover, the Kyiv municipal administration has decided to study the issue of provision of sanitary hygiene services to homeless people and creation of a first-aid service to constantly patrol places where homeless people gather (train stations and markets).
Moreover, eating establishments and a base where warm goods and products will be issued to homeless people will be created in various districts of Kyiv.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Kyiv municipal administration organized medical services for people without specific places of residence at the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Chervonyi Hutor in January.
The Kyiv municipal administration also organized places for issuance of warm clothes and provision of hot food to homeless people.
