The Housing Ministry of Ukraine will insist on introduction of double-rate tariffs for heating and hot water supply in the all heating enterprises till the end of the year.

“The payment of main expenses will be done during a year. As for gas, it will be during the heating season”, explained the head of the Ministry Alexander Popov adding heating rates are permanent currently.

Popov specified currently Ministry works out the corresponding decree of the Cabinet. “I will insist on introduction of this norm till the end of this year”, he noted.

According to Minister, it will help consumers to pay for gas only within the limits of its consumption. “It will be profitable for population. Enterprises will be able to pay for gas during its consumption”, stressed official.

As a reminder, the debts for gas of heating enterprises have raised during the heating season in 2006-2007.

As of early April 2007 the debts of Ukrainian consumers including heating supply enterprises and gas supply enterprises came to Hr 3 bn for gas used since the start of heating season.
